For heterosexual couples wanting to start a family, this package will help identify which of our fertility treatments is the best pathway for you. Once your couples fertility tests have been carried out and analysed by our experts, we will advise on the next steps.
Why have a couples fertility test?
A male and female fertility test helps to shed light on the status of your combined fertility. This includes sperm count, ovarian reserve and thyroid function, each of which are checked with at-home tests.
Couples may choose to carry out fertility testing whilst trying to conceive or during treatment. Others may do so before having a baby to have a clear understanding of their fertility potential.
How we test female fertility
After completing our fertility questionnaire, our female fertility tests will provide you with an assessment of your fertility, which includes:
Ultrasound scan
to help us assess your uterus and ovaries
Anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH)
A blood test to indicate your ovarian reserve
Thyroid profile
A blood test to assess thyroid function
Consultation
With a fertility specialist to explain your results
How we test male fertility
Additionally, this diagnostics package will provide your couple with male fertility tests, which takes an in-depth look at sperm count. The semen analysis helps to test sperm health by exploring:
Morphology
Sperm appearance
Concentration
Number of sperm
Motility
Movement of sperm
How we analyse semen
Results from this analysis are reported according to the WHO (World Health Organisation) criteria. It is important to note that semen analyses can vary over time. If your last semen analysis was over 6 months ago, or you have reason to believe your sperm quality has changed, we would recommend that you repeat the test.
Where do fertility tests take place?
We offer at-home fertility tests for couples - we send a clinical-grade diagnostic test to your door. You have the option of visiting a clinic close to home if you'd prefer.
You take your thyroid and AMH test with a simple finger prick blood test and return the results to our lab via mail.
Semen analysis testing can be done in the privacy and comfort of your own home, we send the sperm kit to your door for you to take your sample at home and return in the mail. You also have the option of visiting a clinic if you prefer.
Ultrasound scans are carried out close to home, thanks to our network of ultrasound scan clinics around the country.
What happens after I get my results?
You'll have a virtual consultation with one of our specialist fertility doctors to review the results of your couples fertility test. Your doctor will explain your results to you and make recommendations for treatment and next steps, answering any questions you may have.

What’s not included
Please note that our clinical team reserve the right to request and arrange further investigations at extra cost (if required to define next steps and treatment plan). These could include: HyCoSy, saline sonogram, recurrent miscarriage blood tests, repeating screening blood tests, repeat semen analysis, etc.

If cancelled or rescheduled with more than 48 hours’ notice before your scheduled appointment, you will not be charged. If cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours’ notice, you will be charged in full for the consultation.
