I have some ideas but I want to get some feedback:

1. High Elves; Teclis: Literally has the Swordmasters of Hoeth unit, and his Spellcaster Hoeth heroes are Swordmasters as well. Seems like a solid Swordmaster RP faction.
1b. High Elves; Tyrion: A literal Swordmaster as your king.
2. Sigvald: uses a sword, is in pursuit of perfection, is a duellist hero (I believe)... I'd assume he falls into a "Swordmaster-esque" catagory, at least for RP purposes.
3. Kislev / The Golden Knight + RoR Watchmen of the Night: the faction is far more than sword-users, but these units seem to fit the billing quite well.
4. Tzeentch / Aekold Helbrass: Strange pick at first glance, but Aekold is the epitome of "Swordmaster." Hell, his sword seems to have a mind of its own, and with The Changeling you can have two Aekolds running about.
5. Khorne / Bloodletters + Bloodreapers + Exalted Bloodletters: Strong sword units. I don't know if they exactly fit "swordmaster" rather than "berserker with a massive sword" though.

If you have any ideas, please, let me know in the comments!

And please, for me, keep it civil and fun. This is an RP campaign, nothing super serious.

High elves spend a lifetime masteing their weaponcraft, but Slaanesh can become even more obsessed, so they are both good choices. However, it could be that the Dark Elves also fit both of these, given they are elves but also prone to excess. Tullaris (if he ever comes) must be a very proficient swordsman.

In a retconned timeline, Eltharion became a Swordmaster, trained by Belenaer. If you wanted to RP, change Cavil's name to Belenaer, and refuse the mount options to become Eltharion the Blind.

Lokhir for the DE: Not a Swordmaster per say but a skiled Duelist.

Malus for DE: Keep him on foot and he is unbeatable.

Yuan Bo for Cathay.

I wish they hadn't gone back to Eltharion the Grim, I much preferred the Elharion the Blind character, he's much more interesting.

True, a Katana is a medium sword, Walisashi was the smaller version and the Nodachi was the largest, there’s little doubt that Samurais used swords.

A sword is a double-edged long weapon, usually straight, andit must be pointed and sharp at the end.A swordcan both poke/stab and slice.

A katana is a single-edged long weapon and is usually curved. It is used mainly for cutting and chopping.

However, the above may just be my personalopinion(and perhaps somewhat stereotypical) . In my culture and language, a ‘sword’ must be a double-edged long weapon. A single-edged long weapon like a katana is usually categorised as a ‘long-knife’ or justdao’.(I used translation software, so I'm not sure the wording is accurate enough

BTW, the katana is only one representative of the many Japanese swords/knives, and they also have what I would define as a sword(dating back to Era of Great Tombs)

The High Elves, but of course, though the Legendary Lord choice in Teclis is not the best to convey it by example. If only we would have Belannaer.

The Dark Elves are close second. Let's hope for Tullaris DLC to fully explore the edge of madness.

I get where you're coming from, and I respect your opinion. I'll add my 2 cents, though.

A "sword" doesn't necessarily have a double-edged blade. For example, the Messer is most definitely a sword and it is essentially the European version of the katana (except the blade is thicker). There are even fencing swords that are only meant for stabbing.
Also, the katana can create vicious stab wounds.

It's generally accepted that the katana is a type of sword. It's also unfortunate that in the 80s and early 90s, the katana was overhyped; nowadays, there's a counterculture of "katanas are sh*t, and swords in general are mostly ineffect compared to spears and mostly used for ceremonial purposes" -- which isn't only untrue, but a product of backlash against the 80s hype. As usual, the truth lies in the middle.

Ultimately, the version of Japanese sword I'd stake my life on in a duel in the Tashi: longer than the katana, not quite as long as the Odachi. There are exceptions, however:

"The longesttachiin existence is 3.7 metres (12ft) in total length with a 2.2 metres (7ft 3in) blade"

That sh*t is essentially a spear, but it can also slash. It's the Japanese Claymore or Zweihander.

There's always the Mixu mod that adds Belannaer, but he's not all that impressive as a combat lord. I'd go for Tyrion + Swordmasters, although Swordmasters are kind of meh in campaign compared to Silverin Guard or Phoenix Guard.

Wouldn't really make any thematic sense as Belannaer is the leader of Saphery. I'd prefer a rework for Teclis where upon building/getting control of the White Tower of Saphery you unlock Belannaer as a Swordmaster-boosting Legendary Hero. I'm a huge Swordmasters of Hoeth fan (as you can see by my constant posting about them) and I'd love anything that allows them to be an efficient unit in late-game campaign, and the only thing Teclis gets is a worthless upkeep reduction...

Tyrion is a figure of great martial prowess, but, thematically, it makes more sense for him to ride alongside Silver Helms and to command citizen militia.

The leader of Saphery is uncertain. The leader of the White Tower of Hoeth, that is the High Loremaster of Hoeth, is Teclis, though.

Belannaer the Wise is the oldest living Loremaster of Hoeth, and the Phoenix King's advisor. I could see him become Finubar's LH, or at least a quest giver.

Ideally, CA should release a character pack.

Bretonnia is also obsessed with swords. Greatswords on Questing knights, Sword and Board on Grail Guardians. Louen and Repanse also have swords.
